Archivio di Stato di Milano

Make history: save a document

The State Archive of Milan’s vast array of holdings - from medieval parchments to records from the 21st century - require constant care and attention to prevent and repair the damage caused by handling and the passing of time.
In order to make up for the lack of ministerial funding available for the restoration of the records, the “Make history: save a document” project has been launched.

Anybody can contribute to saving a document by donating the necessary sum required to look after it. If made via Art bonus, donations enable the donor to claim a significant tax benefit corresponding to 65% of the amount donated in the form of tax credit. The Archive issues the donor with a printed certificate and a reproduction of the saved document togetherwith a description of it; the name of the donor will also be printed on the cover perpetually bound to the document so they take their place in history forever.

URGENT MEASURES TO PROMOTE CULTURAL PATRONAGE

Pursuant to art.1 of Leg. Decree no. 83 of 31.5.2014, “Urgent provisions for the safeguarding of cultural heritage, the development of culture and the relaunch of tourism”, converted with amendments into Law no. 106 of 29/07/2014 as amended, a tax credit (the ‘Art bonus’) was introduced for cash donations to support the arts and culture with the aim of promoting the patronage of cultural heritage.
As per this Law, those who make cash donations to support culture will be able to enjoy significant tax benefits in the form of tax credit.
