2014
Dear Milan The theme of the 2014 calendar is opulent Milan in the second half of the 19th century. Every month is illustrated with an original image taken from an Archive document, taken, for the most part, from the archives of noble families (Sormani, Bazzero, Taverna...) or from periodicals preserved in the Police Headquarters archive.
Proceeds from sales of the calendar will be used to pay for the restoration of archive materials and purchase conservation materials.
2013
In the sign of . Each month of the calendar is illustrated with a 19th century document, chosen from the archives of the Milanese Bazzero, Sormani and Giulini families: these ‘invoices’ on headed paper were issued by various Milanese shopkeepers, merchants, traders and manufacturers.
The proceeds from sales of the 2013 Calendar were allocated as follows:
- restoration of record no. 13c of the Census old section archive, which for years was no longer accessible;
- purchase of 3 new Wood lamps for the study room;
- purchase of 10 books for the School of Palaeography, Archive Studies and Diplomatics;
- purchase of 2000 thick acid-free paper sleeves of excellent quality to preserve the epistolary section of the Toscanini Archive recently acquired by the Directorate-General for Archives and entrusted to this Institution.
